A gym that works for you.

You don’t need to be fit, experienced or know exactly what you’re doing.

Whether you want to get stronger, improve your fitness, lose weight or simply feel better, you can work at your own pace, with support when you need it.

The goal isn’t to become someone else.
It’s to feel stronger, fitter and more confident in yourself, one visit at a time.

We get how frustrating fitness can be.

  • Gyms feel built for experts, not beginners
  • Workouts are boring or lonely without a community
  • You feel watched or judged while you learn
  • Progress stalls because you lack a supportive plan

In a world of confusing fitness trends, simplicity is critical.
The answer to gym anxiety isn't willpower. It's the right space.

Circuit classes.

GET MOVING. FEEL STRONGER. HAVE FUN TOO.

Our Monday and Thursday circuit classes give you a simple, sociable way to get fitter and stronger without having to work it all out yourself.

Move through a range of exercises at your own pace, with guidance and encouragement along the way. You’ll leave feeling like you’ve done something good for yourself, and maybe a little fitter than when you walked in.

Getting started is harder than getting fitter.

You know you’d like to move more, feel better or get a little fitter. But when you don’t know where to start or whether you’ll even feel comfortable there, it’s surprisingly easy to keep putting it off. At Carrick Activity Centre, you don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need somewhere to begin.

QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK US

What's stopping you?

You don't need to be fit. You don't need to know how the equipment works. And you certainly don't need to decide today. Here are the things people often want to know before they walk through the door.

Still got questions? We've answered plenty more about the gym, classes, sports, membership and facilities. See all FAQs here.

Or call us on 01465 811781 or DM on Facebook.

How much is membership?

Gym membership is currently *£20 a month, paid monthly by standing order.*Fees are subject to change. There’s no long-term contract, and your first circuit class is free if you'd rather try a class before deciding what's right for you.

Can I visit Carrick Activity Centre before joining?

Absolutely. Come in, have a look around, meet us and see what you think. There’s no workout required and no pressure to join. Sometimes seeing the place for yourself is the easiest way to decide if it feels right.

I've never been to a gym before. Is Carrick Activity Centre for me?

Yes. You don’t need gym experience, fancy kit or a clue what half the equipment does. We’ll show you around, help you get comfortable and let you start at a level that works for you.

Do I need a gym induction?

Yes, before using the gym independently. Your induction isn't a test or a workout. It's simply our chance to show you how the equipment works safely, talk about what you'd like to achieve and help you work out where to start.

What happens when I visit for the first time?

Nothing scary. We’ll meet you at the door, show you around and answer your questions. You can see the gym, sports hall and facilities and talk to us about what you’d like to do. Or simply have a nosey and head home to think about it.

Is there a contract?

No. Membership is paid monthly by standing order, without tying you into a long-term contract. We’d rather you keep coming because CAC works for you, not because a contract says you have to.

What should I wear or bring?

If you're just coming for a look around, come as you are. If you're exercising, comfortable clothes, suitable trainers and a drink are plenty. You don't need to turn up looking like you belong in a fitness advert. Neither do we.

Do I need to be fit before I start?

Not at all. Getting fitter is one reason to come. It isn't the entry requirement. Start where you are, do what you can and build from there. Nobody expects you to keep up with anyone else.
